Waiting on Wednesday (22)

Scarlet cvr rev2

Scarlet by A.C Gaughen

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine to spotlight any upcoming releases you are eagerly anticipating!

You guys!!! I just hope this turns out to be as amazing as it sounds! Confession – I love all things Robin Hood and and this one has a fearless heroine (Marian was always useless imo) who, I’m guessing, is Will Scarlet! A female Will Scarlet!!! Cannot wait!

Although – her falling for Robin Hood is a bit cliche, personally I think Allan A Dale needs some romance (or possibly I’m just thinking of Joe Armstrong…). Mind you, if the Gisbourne looked like Richard Armitage, I wouldn’t care how evil he was…

Scarlet is out February next year.

Many readers know the tale of Robin Hood, but they will be swept away by this new version full of action, secrets, and romance. Posing as one of Robin Hood’s thieves to avoid the wrath of the evil Thief Taker Lord Gisbourne, Scarlet has kept her identity secret from all of Nottinghamshire. Only the Hood and his band know the truth: the agile thief posing as a whip of a boy is actually a fearless young woman with a secret past. Helping the people of Nottingham outwit the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham could cost Scarlet her life as Gisbourne closes in. It’s only her fierce loyalty to Robin—whose quick smiles and sharp temper have the rare power to unsettle her—that keeps Scarlet going and makes this fight worth dying for.

I love this one too! I can’t remember a book I’ve read lately that’s a play on Robin Hood with a heroine in the lead – February seems like a long way away. :)

  5. Ooh, this one sounds so cool! I LOVE the tale of Robin Hood (I used to want to be like him LOL — stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, which probably wouldn’t have been too great in my case!), and Scarlet sounds like such a great book! :)

Awesome pick for your WOW, Amy! Thank you so much for stopping by!
